Donate

“It’s so good that there’s a service like SARSVL.”

Donations are vital to the continued running of our services.

Thank you so much for showing interest in raising funds for our amazing charity. We have provided more information about some of the main options below but, if you have an idea that’s not on the list, please do get in touch. We love talking to people who would like to offer help.

If you are in employment, we know that some organisations offer a matched giving scheme whereby they match any money you raise. You normally just have to fill in a simple form and give them our details and that, literally, can double the amount we receive. Do ask your employers if they have a scheme in place.

1. One off donation
The quickest and easiest way to make a one off donation is via Just Giving by clicking the link here. You can also make a donation via cheque made payable to Support After Rape and Sexual Violence Leeds (SARSVL) and send to SARSVL PO Box 827, Leeds LS1 9PN.

2. Become a regular giver
If you are able to make a regular donation to us, monthly or quarterly perhaps, that really does make a big difference to our small charity. You can set up a regular giving instruction via Justgiving, or alternatively, you can contact your employer who might have a payroll giving scheme where donations to charity are deducted before tax and paid directly to us.

3. Fundraising
We are fortunate in having supporters who run fundraising events for us during the year – it might be a Cake Sale, a Dress Down Day or, for the more adventurous, they may take part in a challenge event and walk, run or cycle to raise funds. If this sounds like something you would like to do, please get in touch with us at info@sarsvl.org.uk.

Give As You Live: Compare prices online and a percentage of what you spend can be donated to us. Search for ‘SARSVL’ to choose us as your charity.

Impact

Sometimes, when you make a donation to a charity, you are not quite sure what it will be used for.  Here are some examples below of how the money you raise or donate today, can help survivors tomorrow.

£5000 pays the rent for a counselling room for a year enabling 220 sessions of specialist counselling to take place
£2500 pays the annual charge on our specialist helpline platform enabling survivors to access confidential support via free phone, email or SMS text message
£560 pays for eight face to face sessions of trauma informed therapy with a specialist qualified counsellor
£60 is the hourly rate of interpreter service for a survivor without English to access a specialist advocacy session
£15 covers childcare to enable a survivor to attend a face to face session
£4.50 pays for a helpline volunteer to support a survivor over one session via phone, email or SMS text message

A big THANK YOU to anyone who thinks of SARSVL when the urge to get rid of some cash becomes overwhelming, this is such an enormous help to us developing and securing our much needed support service for women and girls in Leeds, but we always need more.
