THE OPENING KICKOFF
• The University of Texas continues its 127th season of football on Saturday when the Longhorns open Big 12 Conference play against Oklahoma State at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
• Saturday's contest in Austin will mark the fourth time in the last 10 seasons UT has opened Big 12 play at home. The Longhorns are 15-8 (.652) all-time in their first Big 12 home game.
• Texas currently boasts 910 all-time wins, the third-most in college football history. UT holds an all-time record of 910-371-33 (.705).
• The Longhorns are coming off a 48-13 victory over Rice at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas last weekend. It was UT's fifth win in its last six non-conference outings.
• Oklahoma State enters this weekend with a 3-0 record, having picked up wins over Oregon State, McNeese State and Tulsa so far. The Cowboys have started 3-0 in four of the last five seasons, and 10 times overall during Mike Gundy's 15-year tenure in Stillwater.
• Saturday marks Texas' second matchup against a team either ranked or receiving votes in 2019. UT previously faced No. 6/6 LSU on Sept. 7 in Austin.
• The Horns beat five ranked teams in 2018, their most since also besting five teams ranked in at least one of the national polls back in 2004.
• Texas holds a 24-9 advantage in the all-time series with Oklahoma State. That includes a 14-6 record in Austin.
• Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Maria Taylor will be calling this weekend's game for ABC's Saturday Night Football. The trio were also on the call for last year's OSU-Texas matchup in Stillwater.
• Each of UT's first four games of the 2019 season have been held in the state of Texas. The Horns have not played four-straight games in the Lone Star State to open a season since 2010.
• The Longhorns are scheduled to play 10 Power Five Conference opponents during the 2019 regular season. UT was the only program in college football to play 11 Power Five Conference opponents in each regular season from 2015-18.
• Eight of UT's 2019 opponents played in a bowl game in 2018, with five of those teams winning their postseason matchups.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES
• Saturday's game marks the 34th all-time meeting between the Big 12 Conference rivals.
• Texas holds a 24-9 advantage in the all-time series, but have been edged out by Mike Gundy's Cowboys in the last four matchups.
• The Longhorns are 14-6 all-time against Oklahoma State when playing in Austin.
• UT's 57-point victory over OSU (71-14) in 1996 - the first season of Big 12 Football - still stands as the largest margin of victory by either team in the series' history.
• Oklahoma State is the only Big 12 program that UT did not beat at least once during Tom Herman's first two seasons as head coach.

A TEXAS WIN WOULD...
• Be Texas' 911th victory all-time, keeping UT as the third-winningest program in college football history.
• Mark Tom Herman's 42nd victory as a head coach and his 20th at The University of Texas.
• Push the Longhorns' record to 15-8 in games played in the state of Texas since Tom Herman took over as head coach prior to the 2017 season.
• Make Texas 7-2 at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium since the start of the 2018 season.
• Improve Texas' record to 19-5 all-time in Big 12 openers and 16-8 all-time in Big 12 home openers.
• Mark Texas' 25th all-time victory over Oklahoma State.
• Snap a four-game losing streak against OSU.
• End a five-game slide against the Cowboys when playing at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

HEAD COACH TOM HERMAN
Tom Herman is in his fifth season overall as a head coach with a career record of 41-15 (.732). He is in his third season at Texas with a mark of 19-11 (.633).
• Including the 2019 season, Herman has spent 16 of his 22 seasons as a coach in the state of Texas on the collegiate level.
• Herman graduated from Cal Lutheran and received his master's degree in education from The University of Texas.
• He owns a career mark of 12-7 against Top 25 opponents, 5-5 against Top 10 foes and 3-2 versus teams in the Top 5.
