Trafford Housing Trust (THT) is a profit-for-purpose housing association with a mission to make society fairer for everyone.

Our vision is that everyone deserves a quality home that provides them with the opportunity to live a better life. Our purpose is to provide homes and neighbourhoods everyone can be proud of.

We put our customers at the heart of everything we do. That’s why, as well as building and managing quality homes, we look after the families that live in them and their community.

Is this a mission you’d love to have a helping hand in? We’re looking for an apprentice who is enthusiastic and keen to learn and develop their skills in housing.

What do Neighbourhoods do?

We assist customers with all aspects of their home, from making sure they live in a safe environment to help should they have problems or need additional support because of extra care needs, plus customer engagement. We also deal with enforcement if people aren’t doing what they should be doing, whilst also trying to find the best solution for everyone.

The Role

The duration of the role is a 2-year fixed-term contract to cover the length of the apprenticeship programme.

The Housing Officer (Decant Support) Apprentice will work with the Neighbourhoods team to support/assist our customers move home because of the re-development of a neighbourhood. You will be working alongside THT departments and our wider partner agencies to ease the process.

On this apprenticeship, you will undertake a Housing and Property Management Level 3 programme to support your development and chosen career path.

The main duties of the role include:

  • To liaise with colleagues and other stakeholders to give or find information to resolve problems
  • To build and develop strong relationships with partner agencies
  • To provide accurate, good quality and timely advice and assistance to all applicants
  • To understand and contribute to the achievement of performance targets for the rehousing service and produce statistics as needed
  • Attend project meetings, as required, gaining information on the progress of the decant programme
  • To support the Decant Coordinator to carry out all necessary tasks to ensure that the process of decanting a customer from one property to another is as easy as possible

Whilst undertaking your learning programme, your manager will help guide your development and day-to-day work. A mentor will provide extra support throughout your role. You’ll be working alongside experienced colleagues to learn hands-on work-based skills.
