UV Index Graphs

Defra funds spectral UV monitoring at Reading, run by the University of Manchester. UK Health Security Agency operates a network of ten broadband UV monitoring stations in the UK and two overseas. In addition UV is monitored at a city centre site in Manchester. All instruments provide data suitable for calculating UV index graphs in near-real-time.

Use the interactive menus and graphing tool below to view the UV index for the available sites and time periods. Further information on UVR can be found on gov.uk. Health advice on UV exposure is available from the World Health Organisation INTERSUN programme. Spectral UV Radiation data and Index graphs can also be downloaded for Defra’s monitoring programme.
