The Mountwood Challenge 10 mile and 5k course take place in the 2600 acre Mountwood Park, 12 miles east of Parkersburg, WV. This scenic, fast-running course consists entirely of established single-track trails traversing the forested hills surrounding a 50 acre lake. This 46-mile trail system has been built and meticulously maintained over the last 20 years by the River Valley Mountain Bike Association. The purpose-built stacked loop system is very runnable, with long, steady grades, and few of the rocky/ rooty technical sections that one tends to expect with West Virginia single track. The start/ finish lines are located in the marina parking lot, approximately ½ mile from State Rt. 50.
The 10 Mile course has a 4 hour time limit. Any participant who make not make the time limit at the half way point may be redirected to finish line.
Race day registration and bib/shirt pick up will be at Carson Station (just past the Marina ), 6:30am-7:30am.
ALL proceeds from the race will go back to the park for park maintenance.
Awards
Awards will be given as follows :
ALL finishers of either race will receive a finishers medal. That said I will order a limited quantity - I can not anticipate race week or race day signs ups. Orders for awards (and shirts) will go out by August 22- any sign ups after that date are unfortunately not guaranteed medals or a shirt .
Overall awards will go to 1st F/M in each race.
5k will have run/walk.
Age groups are 1 deep. 
F/M 0-14 (this age group is 5k only)
,14-19,20-29 etc….
Shirts
Sign ups after Aug 22 are not guaranteed a shirt.
