Alien Species/Feral Arts Free but please book

Free, but please book with the Byre and you'll be given your headset and MP3 player to listen to the soundtrack when you arrive for the performance.

Plastic waste is having an irreversible, devastating effect on the planet, especially in the sea. A recent study has found microplastics, not only in sea creatures but now present in human blood.

Experimental theatre company, Dudendance, imagine a new Alien Species emerging when plastics mutate into living beings. The spectacular costumes can be shed, shaped and transformed in tandem with the wind and sea.

Dudendance have created a juxtaposition of visual sensation combining organic forms with artificial materials, creating costumes that suggest sea creatures transform into trash. These mesmerising Aliens will be appearing on East Sands beach, St Andrews, this May.

Suitable for all ages.

Running time: 30m

If this event is showing as sold out, please feel free to come down to the beach anyway to see what's happening.
