In an effort to promote transparency and collaboration, the Ann Arbor Independent Community Police Oversight Commission will be hosting a public forum along side the City of Ann Arbor Police Chief, Andre Anderson. The goal of the public forum is to listen and learn about your vision and hopes for the community of Ann Arbor. Come out and share your thoughts on how the Independent Community Police Oversight Commission and Ann Arbor Police Department can best serve the Ann Arbor community.
Public Office Hours
The Independent Community Police Oversight Commission public office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00pm-5:00pm and Wednesdays from 9:00am-12:00pm. Public Office Hours are intended for use by those wishing to talk to the commission’s Staff Liaison about Police Oversight Commission related matters

Vision
To foster a transparent and mutually beneficial relationship between the Ann Arbor Police Department and the Community at large.

To encourage the AAPD's respectful treatment of all community members
To enhance communication and sharing of information between the AAPD and the community
To promote positive interactions between the police department and members of vulnerable, at-risk and marginalized groups within the community
To build mutual trust between the community and law enforcement
Commissioners
The Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) is nationally recognized as a leader in developing training and ethical standards for law enforcement officers. Governor Gretchen Whitmer recently expanded the commission to bring community voices to the table to improve community-police relations. ICPOC Chair Lisa Jackson is among the three inaugural community members to join MCOLES, bringing civilian oversight expertise and adding community representation to the policy-making table.
