Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino created works of art with clarity of form and simplicity in composition. Now known the world over only as Raphael, his achievements began a revival of classical forms of art that started in ancient Greece and Rome. Indira Naidoo paid homage to the master painter who died 500 years ago at the age of 37. As Lorraine Kypiotis from the National Art School in Sydney revealed, he left a legacy as the leading artistic figure of Italian High Renaissance classicism.
