Barbara Schlichting was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Barb had an English penpal from the time she was twelve and Chris was fourteen and they wrote letters for fifty-five years. They thought of themselves as just 'us'. Barb wrote a play about the two of them and it's titled CORRESPONDING LIVES. It's about the two of us. Barb wrote the White House Dollhouse Mystery Series set in Minneapolis and the fiction book, The Broken Circle. Barb graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1970. Later, she and her husband moved their family to Bemidji. She attended Bemidji State University where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in elementary education and special education. Barb loves to travel and is now learning the Norwegian language and is excited about meeting Norwegian relatives. She would really like to connect with Swedish relatives also.
