Office for Students Information

As part of our registration with The Office for Students (OfS), we’re required to make some information publicly available.

Degree outcomes statement

Our statement reviews how we ensure the accuracy and reliability of the awards we give. It describes the patterns of degree outcomes over time and our policies and procedures to maintain the fairness and reliability of our awards. It also includes information about our degree classification algorithm.

Access and participation plans

Each year, universities publish a document that outlines their commitment to increasing access to higher education for everyone. Our plan to recruit and support students from diverse backgrounds is available for download, and has been approved by the OfS.

Previous documents for the Office of Fair Access (OFFA):

Transfer policy

There may be instances where students have started their degree at a different university and would like to transfer to complete their studies at UAL. This may be due to a change in personal circumstances.

We're committed to helping students who wish to transfer. We accept transfer students on a case-by-case basis, both for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as long as there are available spots.

If you're an international student considering an external transfer to UAL, contact UAL Student Services to discuss immigration requirements.

We'll create a document that summarises the student’s academic record to help them transfer to another institution.

If you're a current UAL student and wish to transfer to another course within the university, see the UAL course transfer guidance.

External transfer for undergraduate students

If you feel you meet these requirements, then apply to the course as outlined on the course page as early as possible. Transfer students apply when their first term or semester results are published.

We can assess your eligibility and consider your application.

You'll need to select your 'point of entry' as year 2.

External transfer for postgraduate students

If you feel you meet these requirements, then apply to the course through the course page as early as possible. Transfer students apply when their first term or semester results are published.

We can assess your eligibility and consider your application. You'll need to select your 'point of entry' as year one and say in your application that you’re applying with credit.

This information helps us decide if the content you've studied is suitable for the course. Meeting all the requirements is necessary for a successful application.

All applications are sent to the Admissions Service, who’ll review them with the Course Admissions Tutor. You’ll receive notification of your application's outcome through UCAS or email.

T level qualifications

We encourage students taking the new T level qualification to apply. T levels are an alternative to other 16-19 courses, including A levels, Extended Diplomas, and apprenticeships. T levels are equivalent in size to 3 A levels, focusing on vocational skills that can help students into skilled employment, higher education or apprenticeships.

When applying to UAL, all information submitted is considered, not just qualifications. Additional documents, such as a digital portfolio or written statement, are often required by courses to support the application process.

Our admissions tutors review applications and consider the subject and content of individual qualifications, along with any extra documentation provided upon request. T levels related to design are usually the most suitable.

For more information, see the T levels government page.
