Legendary Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi chooses the Rock God and Johnnie heads to the Soviet Union for 'This Week In Rock'.

Tony Iommi IS a Rock God. Without him, heavy metal and heavy rock would not exist as it does today. His pioneering development of the 'drop D' tuning method in the late 1960's produced Black Sabbath's trademark dark, doomy sound. Put simply, it was Tony who paved the way for generations of heavy metal enthusiasts.
Since Sabbath retired at the end of their final world tour in 2015, Tony has been rather quiet. Apart from working with the Birmingham Cathedral Choir in 2017, he's produced no new music. Until now!
Tony has just released a new instrumental song called 'Scent Of Dark', which accompanies his collaboration with an Italian perfume house. Safe to say, Tony's own choice of Rock God is a well deserved one - takes one to know one, after all!
Elsewhere on the show, Johnnie takes a peek behind the Iron Curtain in the 1980's for 'This Week In Rock'. He's also got a clutch of new releases to play, plus rock from across the decades.
