When he was last back home in Northern Ireland, Tyrone Howe found himself drawn to Dungannon’s Stevenson Park.

Driving down the motorway, he was suddenly on an unplanned detour, taking that familiar turn-off to enter gates he’d first passed through half a lifetime ago. As he did so, he recalled images of arriving at the same clubhouse 20 years prior alongside team-mates like David Humphreys, Tony McWhirter, Paddy Johns and the Cunningham brothers, the All-Ireland League title secured, and gleeful, cheering masses awaiting to welcome them home.
