Pedro Capó and Farruko’s paradise-themed song “Calma” has crossed into the mainstream, with superstar Alicia Keys joining the Puerto Rican singers for a bilingual remix.
“Hearing that Alicia Keys liked the song and wanted to join us on ‘Calma’ is an honor and blessing that really transcends what I can put into words,” Pedro Capó tells Billboard. “When we initially wrote the song, I wanted to capture and share what makes Puerto Rico so special to me, and so many of us on the island.”
For the new version of “Calma,” Keys adds English-language lines describing the island and joins the chorus singing in Spanish, while Capó and Farruko keep their verses.

“[Alicia] is one of the most talented artists in the world and someone I’ve respected for a long time. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with her, and grateful for her coming to Puerto Rico to help further spotlight our home,” he added.
The song was released early Friday (April 19) with a music video in which Alicia Keys enjoys Puerto Rico’s beaches and dances with Capó and Farruko.
