Whitney Houston

One of the most legendary vocalists of all time, Whitney Houston – or The Voice as she was often nicknamed – remains one of history’s most influential and best selling soloists to date. The late superstar’s birthday was August 9, 1963 and she stood at a height of 5’8”. Famous for smashes like “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” “How Will I Know” and her iconic version of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You,” which topped the Hot 100 for 14 weeks, the New Jersey-born artist clocked an incredible 11 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as 23 total top 10 tracks, and four No. 1 albums before her death in 2012. In 1992, she made her film debut in Mick Jackson’s ‘The Bodyguard,’ for which she recorded and produced a soundtrack that would become the best selling movie soundtrack of all time, topping the Billboard 200 for 20 weeks and winning album of the year at the Grammys. She went on to star in more films, including ‘Waiting to Exhale’ (1995), ‘The Preacher's Wife’ (1996) and ‘Cinderella’ (1997).
