Operation Encompass Refresher Training Session

Operation Encompass Refresher Training Session

Outline

Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022 states:
Operation Encompass operates in all police forces across England. It helps police and schools work together to provide emotional and practical help to children. The system ensures that when the police are called to an incident of domestic abuse, where there are children in the household who have experienced the domestic incident, the police will inform the key adult (usually the designated safeguarding lead (or a deputy)) in school before the child or children arrive at school the following day. This ensures that the school has up to date relevant information about the child’s circumstances and can enable immediate support to be put in place, according to the child’s needs.

Description

This webinar session is designed to provide all schools with the following:
  • An update and an overview of Operation Encompass Birmingham, since its launch in September 2021.
  • Provides oversight of the Birmingham systems and processes.
  • Explains how schools can be part of it.
  • Answers any questions that you might have.

Outcomes

This is suitable for all schools whether they have already signed up or wish to have a reminder of what is involved.

We strongly encourage attendance from schools who have not implemented Operation Encompass yet, or for those who have completed Key Adult training but are unfamiliar with the Birmingham systems and processes.
