Mr Nikhil Nanavati is a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon, accredited by The Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is the winner of the NHS Clinical Excellence Award 2022 for his outstanding contributions to foot and ankle surgery. With a strong academic background, Mr Nanavati ranked fourth in Yorkshire at the basic surgical training exam and eleventh in the country at the specialist orthopaedic training exam.
He has contributed to the international textbook, "Essentials in Foot and Ankle Surgery," authoring a chapter. Mr Nanavati has won regional awards and has been nominated for national awards for his innovation in orthopaedic surgery. He has worked alongside two previous presidents of the British Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS) and completed a specialist foot and ankle fellowship with the BOFAS president.
Mr Nanavati has completed a humanitarian secondment in Malawi, Africa, performing complex trauma surgery with limited equipment. He also holds a postgraduate Masters in Orthopaedic Engineering (MSc). He has completed specialist orthopaedic surgical training in Sheffield and is an Advanced Trauma and Life Support (ATLS) instructor with the Royal College of Surgeons. He also serves as an expert witness and medicolegal specialist in orthopaedic surgery.
Mr Nanavati is a member of the British Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS). He earned his undergraduate medical degree from Brighton/Sussex medical school and was educated at The Manchester Grammar School. My experience with Mr Nanavati was excellent. He explained everything very clearly and made sure I had all the information I needed. The difference he has made to my ankle is fantastic.

On arrival for my appointments, Mr Nikhil Nanavati was very welcoming and friendly. My appointment times were met and punctual . Procedures were carried out with excellent bedside manner and everything was explained clearly . Any questions I raised were answered professionally and in clear understandable language. Nikhil was reassuring polite and professional at all times and I was made to feel relaxed and comfortable at all times .

From my consultation to post op appointments the service I received is nothing less than first class I am so thrilled with the results of my operation - I am so grateful to Dr Nanavati for what he has done for me. If I could give ten stars I would!!

Orthopaedic SurgeryNikhil impressed me immensely as a trainee over the 15 years I’ve been involved in the teaching of orthopaedic surgeons, so much so that I was extremely keen to appoint him to a substantive post a couple of years ago. Since then he has shown incredible expertise and enthusiasm, with many glowing compliments from patients and with many staff also seeking his help with their foot and ankle problems, which speaks volumes. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
