About this event

Feeling lonely and isolated can make life challenging, especially during a crisis.

It can be difficult to know how to help. This workshop aims to give you the opportunity to speak openly about how it might feel to be lonely or isolated and learn skills to help others who may be suffering. Using group discussion to address the causes and effects of loneliness, there will be a chance to reflect and share personal experiences too. We will also discuss and practise how to be an effective listener in order to support others.

This workshop aims to explore the topic of loneliness in a learner led way and improve active listening skills.

We want learners to:

  • Feel comfortable talking about loneliness
  • Be able to recognise when someone needs support
  • Feel confident to offer support to someone who is feeling lonely

We have some exciting new online resources to help empower those who may be feeling lonely, and provide them with tools to build confidence, reach out to others and look to the future. Please share these resources with your networks. All of our resources are free and we have resources for both adults and children and young people. Anyone wishing to be notified when we have new resources live on our website can sign up for updates here.

You will receive the Zoom link in the confirmation email and also in an email 2 hours before the event. Any issues please email redcrosseducation@redcross.org.uk
