About this event

Join us on Tuesday 19th October for a very special journey along the West Somerset Railway.

We will head off on the heritage railway from Bishops Lydeard Station (nr Taunton) and cross the countryside by train to Stogumber, taking in the extraordinary views at the foothills of the Quantock Hills AONB. After a quick tour of the station from WSR staff, we will head off on a Photo Walk across countryside footpaths to Crowcombe Heathfield Station, where we have another tour and return train journey arranged to Bishops Lydeard.

The walk will be gentle, with mixed terrain, and walking boots are required. (The walk is not suitable for pushchairs or buggies.)

The Photo Walk between stations is a chance to explore cameraphone photography with professional guidance from a technical team supported by Cosmic UK who will join us on the journey. The photography is to encourage a deeper look at the rural surroundings, villages and communities along the way.

A follow up Photo workshop is also included online on the following week. More details of which will be shared at the event. There are toilets in the car park at Bishops Lydeard station and there are also limited toilets at both Stogumber and Crowcombe Heathfield stations. Basic refreshments can be purchased at all 3 stations, but it is recommended that people bring water and what they need for the 4 hour event with them.
