Graded Care Profile 2 - Virtual Training

Target Group: Level 3

This course is aimed at Social Workers, Early Help Workers, Health, Education staff whom work to support families in making positive change to the family environment.

Graded Care Profile 2 (GCP2) is a strengths based tool which helps practitioners assess and measure the quality of care a child is receiving. The tool is particularly effective in helping identify when a child is being neglected, the lived experiences of a child and how interventions can be targeted to bring about improvements to individual children’s lives. The GCP2 training covers all aspects of information about completing a GCP2 tool with families.  Post GCP2 training practitioners are licenced to be able to undertake and complete a GCP2 tool with families known to their service or setting.

Aims :

• Consolidate your knowledge in relation to neglect

• Following training, become licenced to undertake a GCP2 tool

• Cover how GCP2 fits into local practice.

Learning outcomes:

• Understand Neglect definitions, impact and evidence

• Competently introduce, undertake, score and report on a GCP2.

• Understand the local arrangements with GCP2 and support available post training.

GCP2 Commitment Statement:

We are asking you as a trainee delegate to the GCP2 training to consider why you have chosen to attend this training and how you plan to go away and utilise your training in the GCP2 neglect assessment tool following the training.

The tool you will be trained in helps practitioners to measure the quality of care given to a child, and make it easier for professionals to spot when sub-optimal parenting is putting a child at risk of harm.

As part of implementing GCP2 into your work, you will need to identify a family you know you need to work with to make a judgement about whether or not parental care is neglectful and undertake a GCP2 tool, ideally within three months of the training.

You will be expected to attend 2.5 days of mandatory training, you will need to complete all of these sessions in full - if you don't we will have to charge re cancellation policy (this can be found on Walsall Safeguarding Website)

IF YOU DO NOT ATTEND THIS TRAINING AFTER BOOKING YOUR SERVICE WILL BE CHARGED AS PER CANCELLATION POLICY, WHICH CAN BE FOUND ON THE TRAINING PAGE OF THE SAFEGUARDING PARTNERSHIP WEBSITE.
