This workshop for LGBT+ staff and students is based around the theme of 'identity', so grab your paint, scissors and glue and join us!

What to expect:

LGBTQ+ artists, even more than most, use their work to express and explore identity. In this workshop we will be looking at 3 different LGBTQ+ identifying artists and creating works based upon their works and our own identity through colour, collage, and form.

This is a freeing, artistic space where the focus is self-expression – suitable for all levels of artistic experience.

What you will need:

Coloured pencils, paint or pens

Magazines, advertisements or catalogues for collage

Paper

Glue

About Clare

Clare Lowe is a Bristol based artist and writer, with a degree in art and creative writing. Currently studying to be an art therapist and running youth creative writing and art classes. Clare is also part of the LGBTQ+ community and has their own promotions company, putting on queer events & creating safe spaces – Wig in a Box Promotion. A huge believer in the healing power of self-expression and creativity, they aim to create spaces and workshops that help to relax the mind and build creative confidence.

This group has been launched by LGBT staff members who want to create an inclusive and fun LGBT+ community for staff and postgraduate researchers here at the University of Bath.

The group is open to all staff and postgraduate researchers at the University who identify as LGBT+, including people of any sexual orientation, gender or age.
