We are pleased to announce that, in partnership with the Ministry of Defence - Defence Equipment and Support (de&s) and UWE, University of the West of England. The awards ceremony and private exhibition of the Primary Engineer and Secondary Engineer Leaders Award in the South West of England will be held at the University of the West of England on the 14 June.

Pupils were asked to research engineering and interview a practicing engineer to inspire them in answering the question:
"If you were an Engineer, what would you do?"
Pupils then identified an issue and invented an engineered solution to that problem. Pupils of 3 and over were asked to illustrate their solution, accompanied by a letter to explain their invention and why it should be built by engineers.
The Leaders Awards are STEM programmes designed to encourage children, from as young as 3 up to 19, to engage with engineers who convey the importance and the ubiquity of engineering in everybody’s lives – from the houses they live in to the technology and tools they use, from the multiple transport system they travel in and the very food they eat.
