Fulford Majer is an Architecture practice founded in 2014 by Maria Fulford and Jörg Majer. We work on projects of all shapes and sizes in many contexts; a private recital hall and gallery; a house in the woods; a workshop for a maker; a pavilion for sharing ideas; a kitchen for a growing family.

Our work references both traditional and contemporary architecture taking inspiration from the vernacular whilst exploring new building technologies and materials. Our design process is routed in making buildings and spaces which respond to the needs of our clients, the surrounding context and the environment. There is an emphasis on material selection and craftsmanship. We are interested in how buildings are made, how they perform and how they evolve over time.

Maria and Jörg both graduated from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. Prior to setting up the studio Maria worked for Níall McLaughlin Architects where she was an Associate and Project Architect on the RIBA Sterling Prize nominated Bishop Edward King Chapel, Oxford. Jörg previously worked for AY Architects before starting an image-making and architectural animation studio in 2007.

Maria and Jörg currently teach at The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London.
