Gavin Murphy (Gavin Murphy Songs)  is an alternative indie pop artist who hails from the north side of Dublin, Ireland.

'Break Down Every Door' is Gavin's latest single which was written and recorded in his home studio in Sligo, Ireland and was co produced by Ger McDonnell.

'Break Down Every Door' is about the frustrations of trying to get your art past the gatekeepers and tastemakers in order to be discovered and heard.

The lyrics are also relatable to anyone who is just trying to get on in life.

Gavin describes his sound as “Indie pop/rock with a meaningful and modern twist”.

In 2020, he released his debut album ‘45 RPM (Replay Past Memories)’ which was recorded and produced by Gavin in his home studio in Sligo. The record picked up high praise by the likes of Hot Press magazine, RTE Entertainment, RTE Radio 1 and many more.

All of Gavin's single releases have enjoyed great radio play support in Ireland, Europe and the USA.

Gavin has performed at numerous gigs and festivals such as Electric Picnic 2022, Whelans and even performed a live acoustic session on Ocean FM and was a finalist for the Irish music month 2022.

Gavin's debut album "45 RPM (Replay Past Memories)"  was RTE Radio 1 "Album Of The Week"  for the week beginning 5th June 2020.

The album’s three singles were all well received by national radio, gaining impressive airplay. Ocean FM made each single its "Single of the week" and, upon release, 45 RPM was its “Album of the week” too.
The album received great reviews, including from key tastemakers like Hotpress Magazine and Alan Corr for RTE.ie.  
Barry Devlin – screenwriter and member of the legendary band Horslips – named "My Regret" as one of his favourite singles of 2020.
Gavin is the lead guitarist and band manager of the successful Smiths tribute band These Charming Men, which he formed in 1995. Working as a session guitarist, both live and in the recording studio, led to Gavin starting to write songs of his own.  "45 RPM (Replay Past Memories)" is the culmination of that creativity
