Are you eligible for exemption from the IND requirement to take the tuberculosis test?

Do you need a test?
- Please fill in the registration form. You will be notified of your appointment by e-mail. Enter a form per person.
- Bring your passport or ID card and the completed form Referral form TB test when you visit the GGD (Public Health Service of Eindhoven).
- After the test has been administered, we will fill in the rest of the form and send it to the IND.
Have you arrived from a country where tuberculosis (TB) is widespread?
At your first appointment you will be tested by an X-ray (people older than 18 years). Six months after the first test we invite you for a tuberculin skin test (TST). We recommend that you have this TB test to check if you have been infected with the tuberculosis bacteria. With this test a small amount of fluid is injected into the skin of your left forearm. This test is free of costs.
Three days after the test, you have to come back to the GGD. We will check if there is a reaction. If there is no reaction (the test result is negative) your TB screening is completed. If we do see signs of a reaction, we will carry out further tests.
Follow up by Chest X-ray
Instead of the skin test, you can also choose to have a chest X-ray. Please note: this means that you have to come back every six months for two years. If you would prefer this option, please let us know.
Does my child need to be tested?
Children under the age of 18 will be tested by means of a tuberculin skin test (Mantoux test). This test can reveal whether your child has been infected with the tuberculosis bacteria. You will need to return to the tuberculosis department three days later. The tuberculin skin test can then be assessed by the GGD official.

You can only pay by card.
If further medical examination or treatment is necessary, the customer / patient claims the costs on their insurance. Further medical examination and treatment of children below 18 years of age are free of charge if they are insured by a Dutch Health insurance.
Heeft de Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND) je doorverwezen naar de GGD voor onderzoek op tuberculose? Of kom je uit een risicoland voor tbc? Maak dan als immigrant of expat een afspraak voor een onderzoek naar tbc.
Volg de drie stappen:
- Vul het contactformulier in. We sturen je dan een afspraak per e-mail. Graag per persoon een formulier invullen.
- Vervolgens maken wij een dossier aan en mailen we je de afspraak.
- Neem jouw paspoort of ID kaart en het ingevulde Verwijzingsformulier tbc-onderzoek mee naar de GGD.
Na het onderzoek op tuberculose vult de GGD het verwijzingsformulier verder in en stuurt het naar de IND.
Kom je uit een land waar tuberculose veel voorkomt?
Dan krijg je bij jouw eerste afspraak een longfoto (volwassen boven de 18 jaar). Zes maanden na de eerste test nodigen wij je uit voor een tuberculosehuidtest. Wij adviseren je om één keer een tuberculosehuidtest te doen. Hierbij spuiten wij in de huid van de linker onderarm een beetje vloeistof. Hiermee testen wij of je de tuberculosebacterie bij je draagt. Deze test is gratis.
Je moet er rekening mee houden dat je 3 dagen na de test terug moet komen op de GGD om te controleren of er reactie is ontstaan. Als er geen reactie is (de test is negatief), dan is de TBC screening afgerond. Mocht er wel reactie zijn dan volgt verder onderzoek.
Vervolgtest door middel van longfoto
Je kunt er ook voor kiezen om een longfoto te laten maken. Let op: je moet dan 2 jaar lang ieder half jaar een longfoto laten maken. Wil je hier gebruik van maken, neem dan contact met ons op.
Geen tuberculoseonderzoek
Niet iedereen moet tuberculoseonderzoek laten doen. De IND heeft een lijst met landen opgesteld die geen risicoland voor tbc zijn. Kijk het na op de lijst Vrijstelling tbc-plicht van de IND.
Tuberculoseonderzoek bij kinderen
Kinderen jonger dan 18 jaar krijgen een tuberculinehuidtest (Mantoux). Deze test kan aantonen of jouw kind een infectie met de tuberculosebacterie heeft opgelopen. Je moet drie dagen later terugkomen op de tuberculose afdeling. De tuberculinehuidtest wordt beoordeeld door de GGD medewerker.
Over de test
- De test is verplicht voor de IND.
- De school geeft hier vrij voor.
- Het is niet mogelijk om buiten schooltijd een afspraak te maken.
- Deze test is niet gevaarlijk.

Kosten tuberculoseonderzoek
- X-thorax: € 58,00
- Tuberculine huidtest (Mantoux): € 32,50
- Je kunt alleen met pin te betalen.
- Als vervolgonderzoek of behandeling nodig is, vallen deze kosten onder je Nederlandse zorgverzekering. Soms betaal je eigen risico.
