The Scientific Dossier

On Monday 8 June 2020, The Glyphosate Renewal Group submitted to the Assessment Group on Glyphosate the scientific dossier for the safety assessment of glyphosate. This scientific dossier contains all the regulatory documents and scientific publications that are required for the renewal of the glyphosate registration under European Pesticide legislation*

A central part of the regulatory process to obtain the authorisation to use and market glyphosate in the EU is the submission of scientific evidence of its safety to competent national and European authorities.

The Glyphosate Renewal Group (GRG) submitted the Scientific Dossier to the Assessment Group on Glyphosate (AGG), made of regulatory bodies of France, Hungary, Netherlands and Sweden, for their review and risk assessment. This Dossier includes more than 100 new studies and the summaries of the studies that support glyphosate safety. In addition, it includes the relevant information from the review of 12,000 scientific public literature articles.

Those new scientific publications reinforce the evidence provided during the previous renewal process (2012 – 2017), whose outcome was the re-approval of glyphosate in the EU for five years.

The Glyphosate Renewal Group had already made easily accessible via this website the public part of the dossier and full study reports submitted in 2012 for which the GRG has access and disclosure rights.

Following the recent submission of the 2020 Scientific Dossier, also all the new study reports are made accessible on our website via a simple online ordering procedure. In both cases, certain production information, not safety-relevant, and personal information are not disclosed.
