Community Fundraiser - 5k Santa Run - 4th Dec

Donation protected
This Christmas, the chairman, first team management, club captain and 7 of the players from Frinton & Walton FC will be taking part in the 5k Santa run at the Colchester Castle Park, in full Santa suits. This is an event organised by the Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity. We have all covered the race entry costs (which also go to the charity) from our own pockets and are now hoping to call on the support of friends, family and our local community to help us to raise funds for 3 local organisations very close to our hearts.

We aim to raise a total of £5,200 in sponsorship funds to enable us to donate (after GoFundMe fees of 3% commission + transaction fees) the final sum of £5,000 to:

£2,200 - Lads Need Dads CIC - Recent recipients of The Queen's Voluntary Service Award, deliver an 18-month early intervention programme, “Equip, Engage and Inspire” which has been developed to support boys during the critical years of 11-15. It provides Male-led Group Mentoring, Bushcraft and Outdoor Activities, Practical Life-skills, Community Volunteering Opportunities, Peer Mentor Training and the opportunity to meet inspiring men from the community and visit inspiring places. This volunteer-led organisation is completely funded by grants and donations. https://ladsneeddads.org/

£2,200 - Frinton & Walton Youth Football Club - Awarded the FA Charter Standard Club status by the Football Association for providing a high-quality football experience, for being well run and sustainable, and for making child protection, quality coaching and safety paramount. Established to provide football for boys and girls in and around the Frinton and Walton area. All work undertaken by club managers and officials is on a voluntary basis, but they recognise their responsibilities in the roles they have taken. All funding is via grants, donations and player subscriptions. http://www.fwyfc.co.uk/

£600 - Colchester & Ipswich Hospital's Charity Staff Well-Being Fund, committed to improving the physical, mental and financial well-being of the hardworking NHS staff that work in our local hospitals. As part of the race entry conditions, each of our runners must pledge £50 of fundraising to this specific charity.

By raising money for these 3 organisations we aim to contribute to the provision of much-needed funds being invested back into the local communities and used to continue to provide support, mentorship and life experience to the people that these organisations work with. We hope that you will join us in supporting these good causes.
