Updates on Industrial Action

The Aslef union representing members across train operating companies has a mandate for strike action. 

Following a series of strike days, the railway has now returned to its normal, full timetable. 

No further strikes dates have been announced. This page will be updated as the situation changes. 

To help customers, tickets for the recent strike days are valid for travel on alternative days on GWR services, as per below:

  • Tickets for Friday 5 to Monday 8 April can be used the day before or up to and including Wednesday 10 April 

Customers who purchased tickets but did not travel can claim a full refund or amend their ticket. Those who travelled and were delayed may be entitled to Delay Repay compensation if they were delayed by 15 minutes or more.

Season-ticket holders can apply for compensation through the Delay Repay scheme. Our Refund policy remains in place. If you had a return ticket, you can claim a refund of your unused full fare, even if only one leg of your journey was affected.
