About the role and our team

Join the Attorney General’s Chambers as a Senior Legislative Drafter!

Working as part of a team of Senior Drafters and Drafters, you will be personally responsible for drafting a portfolio of the more complex primary law required to support delivery of the Isle of Man Government’s Legislative Programme.

You will be required to provide legal advice to Departments, Boards and Offices, which  might include liaison with politicians, Chief Officers, Policy Officers and other officers  drafting secondary legislation, with the overriding aim of supporting sound policy development and translation of that policy into high quality Primary law.

You must have a high level of aptitude, specialist knowledge and in-depth understanding of Chamber’s operations and procedures as well as demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm in the delivery of core objectives.

The Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown Dependency with its own parliament, government and laws. Her Majesty's Attorney General and Her Majesty's Solicitor General (the Crown Officers) are appointed by Her Majesty the Queen and hold office during her Majesty's pleasure.

The Attorney General’s Chambers is the office which supports the roles of the Crown Officers. HM Attorney General, supported by Chambers, is responsible for drafting Bills for introduction into the Legislature.​​​​​​​
