Amanda Renee Ibanez, (born August 10, 1996) P.K.A Kiddo AI, is an American singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Born in Tampa, and raised in Miami, Florida. It was there that her passion for music and performing began. While being raised in a family with skilled musicians, she taught herself how to play the guitar and piano with ease. Kiddo quickly realized that music was her destiny. With her musical influences being singer songwriters (Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Lana Del Rey), she began incorporating writing into her musical talents. While continuing to hone her musical and songwriting skills, she began performing at her local church. It wasn’t long before people began to take notice of her incredible live performance.
When attending college, Kiddo began taking sound engineering classes. There, she began to integrate some of the technical aspects of mixing and engineering into her music. As fate would have it, it was there that she met producer and frequent collaborator Leo “Lowkey” Zapata. They both began writing along with up and coming producer Pat Howard, forming a friendship and musical partnership that would begin to shape Kiddo’s unique sound.
In early 2015, she teamed up with Universal Music DJ’s Atellagali for their debut single. At the young age of 19, the singer helped carry their collaborated effort “Close to Your Love”(on which she was featured as Amanda Renee) to great heights on social media platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, and YouTube.
The single soared to number one in Colombia, Costa Rica and Mexico, surpassing some of today’s top artists in the music world. The song’s popularity grew when Mexico’s largest cell phone provider, Lusacell used it for their Google Play campaign. Following the success of their past hit, the duo incorporated Kiddo’s songwriting and vocals for their follow up single “Dance the Night Away” (featured as Amanda Renee), currently released through Universal Music Latino.
With the attention gained from previous features and demo tracks played for peers and execs, the demand for her vocal and songwriting talents further increased. In July of 2016, Kiddo was featured on Strange Music’s artist, Bernz’s third single “When it’s Gone”. The song became the stand out track from the album and caught the ear of Strange Music co-founder and Indie rapper legend Tech N9ne. Tech N9ne and Kiddo collaborated on a song called “Till I’m Gone”, which is featured on the rapper’s album "The Storm". Most recently Kiddo AI has been collaborating with an up and coming Duo that form SMLE. The Song "Stranded" which has her ft and she also co-wrote is available now on iTunes and Spotify. "Stranded" was named as SMLE"s headline for their US tour which they just completed. There are some more exciting songs to come from this collaboration.
Not one to rest on the laurels of a number one single and a new hit on the rise; Kiddo has her sites on crafting a masterpiece of a self-titled EP. Set for a 2017 release, it is a fusion of sounds (R&B, Soul and Indie Pop) that have influenced her diverse musical taste. Expressing her past and current experiences, through hypnotizing melodies and sincere lyrics, this EP is sure to make Amanda Renee an artist to continue to watch for!
