Career stories (2023) – Office Support Trainee
Who are you and where do you study?
My name is Elia and I work as an Office Support Trainee at Krogerus. I am a second year law student at the University of Helsinki. At the moment, I’m attending a course on intellectual property rights that prepares you for writing a bachelor's thesis.
What has been the best part about being a trainee at Krogerus?
The best part about being a trainee has definitely been the people: I've gotten to know many inspiring personalities and career paths at Krogerus.
What was the recruitment process like and how did it feel?
The recruitment process had two phases. First, I sent my application which included my cover letter, CV, and other relevant information. After that, I was invited to an interview. All in all, the recruitment process felt natural and comfortable.
What does your typical workday consist of?
A typical day includes different kinds of office support-related tasks, for example couriering and mailing documents. Additionally, our team assists different practice groups by helping them with their daily, often administrative, tasks.
Which colleagues have you been working regularly with during your trainee period?
In addition to the office support team, I have gotten to work for example with business services, associates, and other trainees.
What do you especially appreciate about Krogerus' culture and atmosphere?
From the very first day I enjoyed the atmosphere, which was caring and supportive. We have a low hierarchy system and help is always available.
How have you been supported as a young professional at Krogerus?
I have been supported in many ways. It was easy to join the team as everyone was supportive and I felt warmly welcome. Also, Krogerus has a great mentoring programme for trainees: it was rewarding to discuss different career possibilities and to see what it would be like to work as an Associate.
What are you planning to do after this traineeship?
After the traineeship I'm going to focus on my bachelor's thesis. Additionally, I am interested in doing an internship abroad.
