This past weekend, almost 700 CMS #football enthusiasts from 39 offices across 26 countries gathered in Vienna to compete for the much-coveted CMS Football Cup title. Players put on a great performance and, supported by their firms, raised approximately EUR 29K for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), our global #charity partner, through donations-per-goal as well as a charity raffle. Congratulations to CMS Kluge and CMS Nordics Women (CMS Kluge, CMS Wistrand) for winning this year’s titles! See photos from the event below. #CMSLaw #FutureFacing

Our recently updated CMS Funds Group Guide to #UCITS Passporting delves into the harmonisation brought about by the UCITS Directive, which introduced a common investment vehicle allowing UCITS to be established and regulated in one #EU member state and offered in others without further authorisation. This guide, along with our Expert Guides to #AIFM Passporting and Private Placement, provides a comprehensive overview of the key elements of #passporting regulations and private placement regimes across 35 EU and non-EU jurisdictions, highlighting the streamlined process of cross-border offerings. The CMS Funds Group Guides have been updated to reflect the implementation of the Cross-border Distribution of #Funds Directive (EU) 2019/1156 and Regulation (EU) 2019/1156 into the national #law of each Member State. These updates include the latest requirements for marketing UCITS funds, such as the appointment of a paying agent, and cover new areas, such as the rules applicable when pre-marketing a fund. With some EU States tightening or even severely restricting their private placement regimes, these guides are essential for non-EU managers and funds aiming to access EU investors, offering insights into the evolving landscape under both the UCITS and AIFMD directives.
