We're incredibly proud to have supported UK Finance with its major report on preventing economic and financial abuse, “From Control to Financial Freedom”, which was published today. Statistics estimate that 1 in 5 UK adults have experienced economic abuse by a current or former partner. This report sets out a number of recommendations needed to help victim-survivors of domestic abuse to regain control of their finances. We're pleased to have played our part in this report by advising UK Finance on the financial services regulatory aspects. Find out more and read the report now: https://lnkd.in/eQNGbcgT

As mental health awareness week continues, we’re proud to highlight our newest wellbeing initiative, our wellbeing champions. Our champions are the bridge between the firm's wellbeing strategy and our people. They help to connect people to the various initiatives and resources that are available to us, bringing our wellbeing strategy to life – moving from words to actions. Our aim is to embed wellbeing as part of our everyday working practice – underpinning our high performance culture, where we can openly talk about our challenges, celebrate our achievements, and support each other as a team. To prepare our champions for their new roles, we worked closely with doctors and psychologists from Smart About Health. Dr Laura David from Smart About Health tells us more. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

The First Tier Property Tribunal has issued its first judgment in which the UK Government (via the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities) has succeeded in obtaining a Remediation Order against a landlord under Building Safety Act 2022. This judgment involves an order which requires the landlord to take steps to complete (currently ongoing) remedial works by a certain date; but will be of interest as it raises issues about the nature of Remediation Orders (which are a no-fault based remedy) in the context of direct Government action; building safety funding; and other issues. Join us for a flash call where experts Emily Monastiriotis, Steven Kaye, Oli Macrae and Sharlmaine Willetts will cover the key areas of the judgment and its potential impact on the fire and building safety landscape.
