Strategic media engagement is a powerful lever to propel your company to the forefront of industry discussions, while enhancing influence over public perceptions and policy direction.    We recently secured a feature story on AgTechNavigator for our client, WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Executive Director, Asia Pacific Region, Joe Phelan who announced their latest member, Golden Agri-Resources (GAR).    We supported Joe to showcase how WBCSD's collaboration with GAR will help to facilitate a more robust transition toward a more sustainable and resilient future. Joe also took the opportunity to share more about how this latest partnership will help drive more conversation around the palm oil industry, and how it supports the broader interests of WBCSD’s diverse member base in fostering sector transformation through the Asia Pacific region.    Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gGu7M3Zu     We believe great communications has the power to create a more sustainable future. In our continuous quest to steer meaningful conversations around healthcare advancements, this month we want to shine a spotlight on our recent efforts to communicate the significant strides being made in diabetes care through technology and the pivotal role of Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) in helping both type 1 and type 2 diabetes patients.     By securing a feature article in Lianhe Zaobao the journalist explains how CGMs offer a less invasive, more consistent method for monitoring blood sugar levels, compared to traditional finger-prick tests. As highlighted by a diabetes specialist, the real-time data provided by CGMs can be a game-changer for patients, enabling better lifestyle and treatment decisions that prevent severe complications.    We are proud to have facilitated this important discussion to educate and empower diabetes patients. At a time when a lack of resources or misleading information can slow the fight against climate change, our commitment to helping businesses cut through the noise and drive genuine progress in the sector remains steadfast. During the recent jam-packed Ecosperity Week, we secured a primetime interview on CNA, a leading regional television channel, for our client, WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s (WBCSD) President and CEO Peter Bakker.    Peter took the opportunity to provide greater clarity on the importance of mitigating climate and nature risks. We supported Peter in demonstrating how WBCSD is at the forefront of supporting companies to act on their nature-related risks, while holding them accountable through their initiatives like the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures. He also emphasised the importance of having comparable data, setting science-based targets and determining sector-specific guidance, to enhance our efforts in addressing climate change.    Watch the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/eDaBmcZM     Get in touch with us at hello@spurwingcomms.com to find out how we can support your business objectives while navigating the complexities of sustainability communications.

Despite facing numerous roadblocks in 2023 which hindered progress in delivering innovative medicines to patients, the biotech industry still saw a rise in cross-border licensing deals between the East and West. With 25% of licensing deals currently originating from Asia, this reflects a strong potential for Asian biotech companies to account for an even larger share of global deals. Spurwing recently attended the 3rd East-West Biopharma Summit, jointly organised by BioCentury Inc. and The BayHelix Group, as a Supporting Organisation. The summit shed light on how this rise in cross-border innovations will bring about greater change for biotech companies across the region. As companies work on strengthening their innovation ecosystems, what role would communicators play in helping companies navigate this change? Read our full takeaways from the summit to learn how effective communications strategies can help biotech companies stay on top of these changes: https://lnkd.in/gtX_J6mz Reach out to us at hello@spurwingcomms.com to find out how we can help you connect your business with the people who matter.

A few weeks ago, Spurwing attended WOMAG’s event on ‘Growth & Empowerment: Women Shaping Agribusiness’ to mark International Women’s Day. Discussion on this topic was intense, sparking strong feelings and engagement among the panellists and audience. The discussion addressed numerous topics, but conversation flowed right from the offset around one big question: how do we overcome barriers to entry for women in agriculture? We've recapped our takeaways and insights for those in our network who weren't able to make this event in person. Read them in full here: https://lnkd.in/g6P7Nat5 We believe great communications has the power to create a more inclusive future in the agriculture industry. We maintain a global outlook on key healthcare issues, through our own curiosity about the evolving landscape, but also through the GHMC - Global Health Marketing & Communications network – a powerhouse of global healthcare agencies that share insights and case studies to maintain the highest level of client servicing through relevant and globally informed offerings. When planning clinical trials, it may be tempting to leave everything up to the Contract Research Organization (CRO), but in today’s extremely competitive recruitment landscape, sponsors must think outside of the traditional parameters to prevent delays and hiccups in their studies. Altair Silva is Senior Vice President of Clinical Trial Patient Recruitment at Spectrum Science - a GHMC Company, our US partner agency. We spoke with Altair to understand the strategies that healthcare companies can use to enhance recruitment while steering clear of common pitfalls, and to learn about the benefits of bringing Clinical Trial Recruitment specialists on board early in the study. These specialists complement the CRO's operational strengths with sharp communication and marketing strategies, which Altair argues is crucial for engaging patients effectively. Effective profiling of senior leadership is key to enhancing brand visibility and building trust in front of the stakeholders that matter. Tapping into our extensive network of agribusiness journalists, we secured a two-page feature story in Food & Beverage Asia for our client WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development's (WBCSD) Vice President, Diane Holdorf. Leveraging our expertise in strategic communications for the sector, we supported Diane to showcase how WBCSD is at the forefront of organisations tackling Scope 3 emissions. She highlighted WBCSD’s initiatives in supporting farmers with nature-positive tools and guidance to achieve sustainable food transformation, as well as its pursuit for greater transparency through its collaborations with various partner organisations. I know our channels are flooded with IWD posts today, but we've all got a personal viewpoint and I wanted to share mine. As we mark International Women's Day, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude and appreciation for the incredible women in my life, especially my remarkable business partner, Emma Thompson, someone who champions and lifts me up every day.    You might think, of course I would say this, this is what you’d expect. But as I reflect on the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, 'Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress', while I’ve been fortunate throughout my career to have been invested in and lifted up by both men and women, the times where I’ve often been torn down and it’s hit hardest, was when it was by other women. Did it hit harder because, sadly, when it comes from men we’ve come to expect or accept it? Perhaps.   Today, I’m grateful to be in business with Emma. She is kind, leads with compassion and genuine curiosity, always questioning 'why' and 'why not', smart as a whip and an astute business woman that I’m proud to be working with. Working alongside her has been a journey of learning, growth, and mutual respect.   We know that investing in women is investing in a brighter, more equitable future. Emma has invested in me and our shared vision, teaching me the invaluable lesson that when women support each other, incredible things happen.   As we celebrate today, let's commit to truly recognizing, supporting, and investing in the incredible women around us. It could be as simple as giving them a compliment, helping them recognise where it’s OK to bring your ‘B’ game or introducing them to someone at a networking event. Lift them up.     To Emma Thompson and all the incredible women at Spurwing Communications and in my life, thank you for your inspiration and commitment to making a difference.   #internationalwomensday2024 #womeninbusiness #gratitude #womenleadership #womenledbusiness #thankyou

2023 was a challenging year for agriculture, with stringent government policies and the adverse effects of climate change implicating numerous stakeholders across the global supply chain. This year, existing challenges like an ageing farming population and the lack of representation of the Asian farmer’s voice in regulatory preparedness and compliance, could complicate ongoing efforts of transitioning to greener farming or even impede sustainable business growth. Our Managing Director, Emma Jenkins-Lee, recently moderated a fireside chat hosted by WOMAG (Women in Agribusiness Asia), “From the Farm to the Boardroom: Leadership in a changing world”. She spoke to Cindy Lim, Head Sustainable & Responsible Business, APAC at Syngenta and Cherie Tan, Head, Public Affairs, Science and Sustainability at Bayer, on the role of communicators in piecing all of this together to help agribusinesses articulate their purpose. To learn more about how effective communications strategies can help agriculture businesses communicate their stories amidst the challenges and scrutiny in the year ahead, read our full takeaways from the panel here: https://lnkd.in/ghSk5Rqt Get in touch with us at hello@spurwingcomms.com to find out how we can support your business objectives while navigating the complexities of agriculture communications. #sustainability #agriculture
