The Resilience of Reentry: A Mother's Journey Back into the Workforce --- I recently came across a story that deeply resonated with me*, one that underscores the resilience and determination of mothers reentering the workforce. It’s a tale of grit, reinvention, and ultimately, success. Meet Emma, a finance professional who took a five-year career break to focus on raising her child. According to a study by the Center for Talent Innovation, around 43% of highly qualified women take a career break at some point. For many, like Emma, the transition back can be daunting. Emma's reentry into the workforce was far from easy. Despite her previous experience and skills, she had to accept a lower-level position than the one she left. This is a common scenario: about 73% of women who take a break of more than a year return to roles below their prior status. However, Emma did not let this setback define her. She approached her return with a strategic mindset: 1. **Skill Refresh**: Emma enrolled in online courses to update her skills in the field. She also attended industry conferences to network and learn about the latest trends. 2. **Building a Support Network**: She joined professional groups and reconnected with former colleagues, seeking mentorship and advice. This network proved invaluable, offering both emotional support and practical job leads. 3. **Showcasing Transferable Skills**: Emma highlighted the skills she honed during her career break, such as time management, multitasking, and organizational abilities. These are essential in both parenting and professional settings. 4. **Persistence and Patience**: She understood that success wouldn’t come overnight. Emma set short-term goals, celebrated small victories, and remained patient through the ups and downs. Within two years, Emma’s efforts paid off. Her dedication was recognized, and she received a promotion that not only restored her previous status but also positioned her for even greater opportunities. Her story is a testament to the strength and resilience of mothers reentering the workforce. Emma’s journey is a powerful reminder: the path may not be linear, but with determination and the right strategy, success is within reach. To all the mothers out there facing similar challenges, know that your career break is not a setback—it’s an opportunity to return stronger. *Emma is me. The support network is you, so THANK YOU! #CareerBreak #WorkingMothers #WomenInBusiness #Resilience #SuccessStories #GratefulForYou #WomenInETFs #WE

The 2024 Wealth Management EDGE conference was a refreshing experience connecting with registered investment advisors, ETF issuers and other industry professionals within the Wealth Management ecosystem at the sunny beachside of Hollywood, Florida. ➡️ Personal highlight: I had a full circle moment seeing some of our clients’ ETFs—which I actively support with back office custodian operations—being promoted at the exhibition booths. It was rewarding to see the visible impact of my daily workflow in servicing the ETF creation-redemption mechanics. It was clear to me that it is not just fictional tickers I see on my computer screen daily but real life products with the issuers and liquidity partners rallying to promote on the front end. ➡️Learning: I followed the ETF track primarily with Inside ETFs+ (Part of Wealth Management EDGE) though I joined a few sessions from other education tracks. My favorite session was the “Understanding the millennial investor mindset” panel session cause it was very relatable for me as a young investor. I was happy to be in rooms discussing emerging trends and technologies such as the role of AI, Active Investing, Impact investing, Thematic ETFs & reimagining possibilities with multi share class products within the ETF industry. ➡️ Networking: I enjoyed developing new, in person relationships with the Women in ETFs community which I am a member of. I also loved the opportunity for one-on-one Elevate meetings where I chatted with some industry leaders and other attendees. Thank you to everyone who connected with me during the networking breaks. Well done to the organizers as I left the conference feeling very inspired. I look forward to attending more industry specific events and watching developments within the ETF space and the broader asset & wealth management industries. #WealthManagementEDGE2024 #WealthManagement #AssetManagement #Conference #InsideETFs
