🌱🔬 Engaging in the Future of Green Hydrogen Research 🌍💧 Yesterday, on behalf of Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC and HySecunda I had the privilege of participating in the Green Hydrogen Research Review in Sandton/Johannesburg alongside my esteemed colleague Sebastian Schindler from Fraunhofer CSP. We were graciously invited by Green Hydrogen South Africa Networking Events to delve into the emerging themes and priorities of GH2 research, aligning with both public and private sector objectives. It was truly enlightening to witness South Africa's strides within the H2 economy and to engage with esteemed stakeholders, including Dr. Cosmas Chiteme (DSI), Prof. Sampson Mamphweli, Ms. Robyn Vilakazi, and an engaged audience. The insights shared by the panelists, coupled with the comprehensive study presented by Dr Karen Surridge in the "Green Hydrogen Research Review report," were nothing short of impressive. A special thank you goes to Marlett Balmer (GIZ South Africa, Lesotho & eSwatini), who supported us immensely beforehand and led this event with great expertise. Closing remarks by Thomas Schneider (GIZ South Africa, Lesotho & eSwatini) provided a platform for fruitful networking, sparking intriguing conversations and discussions. Special thanks to Bruce Young and Marc Cawood Dunnink for their invaluable contributions and time. Excited to continue driving progress in the realm of green hydrogen research and innovation! We'll be back with our HySecunda consortium in a month, organizing a workshop related to the HyShift project in Secunda.
