Google UK hopes to “reinvigorate” its workforce with renewed investment in its London offices, and expects headcount in 2022 to rise from 6,400 to 10,000. The tech giant is buying its Central Saint Giles premises, where it is currently a tenant, and will renovate it to bring it in line with its new Kings Cross site, which is currently under construction. The new spaces will offer more flexibility for hybrid working, in a bid to entice workers back to the office three days a week. Google UK managing director Ronan Harris said: “We're making this commitment to rebuild… we're keen to see everybody come back in and see a vibrant workspace again.”
