Mediterranean Editors and Translators Meeting 2019

Make it count: communicating with clarity and concision

School of Medicine and School of Humanities and Social Sciences
University of Split · Split, Croatia

26-28 September 2019

The annual Mediterranean Editors and Translators Meeting (METM), now in its 15th year, is an established CPD and networking event – a highlight in the calendar for many editors, translators, interpreters and other providers of English-language support services in the Mediterranean area and beyond. It offers one and a half days of presentations and keynote speeches, two half days of pre-conference workshops, and a programme of “Off-METM” events.

The 2019 meeting will be held in Split, Croatia, at two modern venues, the School of Medicine and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, both located on the recently renovated university campus. This year, we are joining forces with MiRoR (Methods in Research on Research), which is an innovative joint doctoral training programme dedicated to research on research, an emerging scientific discipline aimed at reducing waste in research and increasing research value.

Split is a beautiful coastal city with a population of about 200,000. It is home to historical landmarks such as Diocletian’s Palace, the St Domnius Cathedral and the Temple of Jupiter, but is also known for its waterfront and beaches. Split has its own airport, a ferry port and good bus connections to the airports of Zagreb and Zadar.

Venue addresses

School of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split, Poljička cesta 35, for the pre-conference workshops and welcome reception.
School of Medicine, University of Split, Šoltanska 2, for the main conference.
