How to apply

You can apply by:

  • filling in PDF application forms and emailing them to a case worker, or

  • contacting a case worker who will send you paper application forms in the post

Once you have received your forms you can complete them at your own pace. You do not have to send them all at once.

For example, you can send it to your case worker and they will:

  • check it to see what’s left to do
  • answer any questions you might have
  • help you find any supporting documents you need
  •  let you know about other support available

Please read the "Help to apply" guidance as you go through the application. There is separate application guidance for next of kin applicants.

You can also read about your rights under Scotland's Redress Scheme in the "Summary of options" document.
