NextGenEU—The game-changer for Europe

NextGenEU—The game-changer for Europe

Conference   Singapore
  Tue 19 Jul 2022 08:00 - 15:30

With globalisation under pressure and new challenges threatening the investment opportunities, the open economies of Europe and Asia Pacific can work together to ensure future mutual prosperity.

At the heart of the European Union’s far-reaching economic plan is Next Generation EU, a borrowing programme which could transform how leading Asian investors and business leaders consider their relationship with Europe.

Organised by OMFIF with the participation of the European Commission, the event includes contributions from the most senior officials from its budget and administration division. It also features central bank and ministry of finance leaders from across Southeast Asia, some of the region’s most influential investors, and representatives from the world’s top banks.

The event offers a superb networking opportunity and the chance to learn more about how the NextGenEU programme is transforming global capital markets, including green and sustainable bonds, and why now is the time for Asian investors and other leaders to consider doing more with and in Europe. The discussions also touch on the euro’s role as a global reserve currency and policy-makers’ thoughts on the financing of Ukraine’s eventual reconstruction.
