Rebecca has experience working on a range of renewable energy transactions (solar PV, wind (onshore and offshore), biomass and energy from waste) as well as digital infrastructure projects. Rebecca has a particular interest in emerging technologies, including hydrogen and energy tech.

  • Corporate / M&A

    • Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) on its partnership with Amberside Energy for the development of 2 GW + of solar PV, battery storage and solar PV with co-located battery storage projects in the UK. As part of the partnership, CIP will provide a development loan to Amberside to enable the development of the solar PV, battery storage and solar PV with co-located battery storage projects.
    • A leading renewable energy developer on the sale of a 49% stake in three development stage offshore wind projects in Sweden to Ingka Investments. The projects – Galatea-Galene, located off the coast of Halland, Triton, located off the coast of Skåne and Aurora, located off the coast of Gotland and Öland – have the potential to reach an aggregate installed capacity of 9 GW and to produce up to 38 TWh combined, once operational, corresponding to more than 25% of the electricity consumed in Sweden in 2021.
    • Glennmont Partners on its disposal of its 41.8 MW wood-fired power plant to Greencoat Capital.
    • Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) on its partnership with Bute Energy (Bute). As part of the transaction, CIP’s flagship fund Copenhagen Infrastructure IV K/S will invest in Bute’s portfolio of onshore wind farms and solar PV projects, some with co-located battery energy storage systems, under development in Wales, UK. The Bute portfolio consists of projects at various stages of development and is expected to have a total installed capacity of over 2GW by 2030.
    • Hornsea 1 Limited, a joint venture owned between Ørsted (50%) and Global Infrastructure Partners (50%), on its £1.175 billion sale of its transmission assets to Diamond Transmission Partners Hornsea One Limited. DTP Hornsea One is a partnership between Diamond Transmission Corporation Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation) and Chubu Electric Power Company Netherlands B.V. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.).
    • Walney Extension Limited, a joint venture owned by Ørsted (50%) and Danish pension funds, PKA (25%) and PFA (25%), on its £447 million sale of transmission system assets relating to the 659MW Walney Extension offshore wind farm to Diamond Transmission Partners Walney Extension, a partnership between Mitsubishi subsidiary Diamond Transmission, HICL Infrastructure and Chubu Electric Power.
    • Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) on the sale of its 35% equity interest in the Beatrice offshore wind farm to The Renewables Infrastructure Group Limited (TRIG) and to funds managed by Equitix Management Limited (Equitix).
    • Bluefield Solar on its acquisition of 13.5-MWp of operational solar parks in England and Scotland.
    • STEAG on its acquisition of Gildemeister Energy Solutions belonging to DMG Mori AG.
    • Infracapital on its existing JV with Amarenco to develop agricultural solar projects across France.

    Projects and Financing

    • NextEnergy on the EPC and O&M arrangements in relation to the development of a UK-based solar portfolio on sites owned a major water utility company.
    • Azito Energie and its joint venture shareholders, Globeleq and IPS, on the EPC and O&M arrangements in relation to the Phase 4 expansion project of the Azito gas-fired power project in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
    • Project sponsors on the negotiation of the EPC (TSA + BoP), operational aspects (LTSA + MSA and major subcontracts) and financing of the 102MW Copperton Wind Farm in South Africa.
    • Project sponsor on the negotiation of the EPC and O&M arrangements in relation to the development of a biomass plant in Aabenraa, Denmark.
    • A consortium of lenders in relation to the financing and development of an onshore wind farm in Mongolia.
    • Canadian Solar on its £41.9 million non-recourse project finance facility with BayernLB.

    Infrastructure

    • Fibrus Ltd on the submission of bids for two state aid funded projects for the roll out of a superfast broadband network in the North of England. Also advised on the refinancing of its corporate facility.
    • Fibrus Ltd on a range of project matters in relation to a contract with the Full Fibre Northern Ireland Consortium to design and built a new gigabit-capable FTTP network to connect approximately 900 public sector sites in 10 council areas in Northern Ireland.
    • Connexin on the investment from WhitehelmCapital and on the Project Development Agreement in relation to design and construction of a FTTP fibre network in Hull and surrounding areas.
    • Infracapital on the equity structuring and bid advice to a consortium submitting a proposal for a state aid funded Project for the roll out of a superfast broadband network in Northern Ireland and, subsequently acted as Project counsel for the Project following the nomination of the Consortium as preferred bidder.
    • Infracapital (and its 82% subsidiary Gigaclear) on the bid for the Scottish Government's rural broadband delivery tender 'R100'.
