Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center helps refugees from Ukraine

Since 24th of February Poles across the country are helping refugees from Ukraine. After barbaric russian attack, we could not remain indifferent to the fate of people wronged by war. That’s why we have made some of our office spaces available as temporary accommodation places. Currently three ukrainian families founfd shelter in the PSNC building at Zwierzyniecka street. We host 16 people, including 10 children, the youngest of whom is only a few months old… Our friends fled from Odessa and Zhytomyr.

Both PSNC employees and our collegues bring food, clothes and personal hygiene products. We would like to thank everyone who helped us transform office spaces into a cozy home, also for the youngest refugees. Thank you for deliver baby bathtubs, cots, prams, mattresses, toys and even books in Ukrainian language.

As PSNC we also provided warm meals for our guests, that they can eat in the canteen at dormitory located across the street. In our offices refugees have also access to kitchen and bathroom, washing machine and the support of our employees and volunteers. We help adults write CV, get a job – so that families can become independent as soon as possible and find a permanent place to live.

When one family is ready to leave temporary shelter in PSNC, another one will fill the vacant places at Zwierzyniecka street. We are able accomodate up to 20 people at the same time. We also organized a fundraiser, which can be supported by each of you: https://zrzutka.pl/p2sr5n

Thanks to the collected funds we will provide necessary needs of ukrainian tenants, which we are not able to sustain with gifts. Rotation in the facility keeps the needs constant. We will also use the collected money to support better start of a new life for refugees based in Poznan.
