This was Circus Maximus in all its splendor. Centuries later “Circo Maximo Experience” recreates the majesty of the area that once housed the obelisks now seen today in Piazza del Popolo and in Piazza of St. John Lateran.

In the 10th century A.D. Emperor Augustus placed the obelisk of Ramses II in the center. While a majestic second obelisk, that of Tuthmosis III, was placed by Constantius II in 357 AD.

Complete with COVID security measures, this innovative 3D experience has returned one year after it opened. It shows how the chariot races were in ancient Rome, with an atmosphere comparable to a football stadium today.

'In principle, carrying out the project in the midst of the coronavirus seemed impossible, but we developed a type of mask the visitor can put on and enjoy the experience.'

It allows visitors to admire monuments that once expressed the grandeur of an empire in constant growth.

Now you are before the imposing Arch of Titus. Built, perhaps, in place of an older arch. It was dedicated in 81 A.D. by the Senate and the Romans for Emperor Flavian to celebrate the conquest of Jerusalem in 70 A.D.

“Guests can see the history of the complex, from when it was built to everything afterward - even how it looked during Fascism, where it was used for propaganda purposes. It's impressive to see the whole history of the Circus and its monuments.”

Thus, technology unites with history to recreate this space that once spread between the Aventine and Palatine Hills.
