A.doubler sees Manyana's continue to pursue their environmentally informed musical activism and it features two songs - 1994, which is heavily influenced by 90's Warp Record mainstays like Squarepusher and Aphex Twin, and Mondo Juno is a bass driven, lyrical piece which proposes finding a 'new way' as an alternative to late-stage capitalism and its constant need for growth at the expense of environmental stability.

Tell us three things about yourself?

We're an electronic duo originally from Wicklow.

We released our debut album earlier this year, and followed this up with A.doubler, which has just dropped on all major streaming platforms.

We’ll be playing Marlay Park in Dublin on Wednesday, September 1st this year, details to follow shortly!

How would you describe your music?

It is often more informed by theme than by genre; while one of our songs may utilize ambient soundscapes, middle eastern orchestral arrangements, or fast-paced breakbeats, it will generally express a vision of the future in which many of today's societal anxieties have come to pass. Climate change in particular is a recurring motif in our art.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Currently we are enjoying artists like Bicep, Max Cooper, Moderat, Nicholas Jarr.

What are you most looking forward to post-lockdown?

Working together again in person. We completed the majority of A.doubler and our debut album NTM by working remotely, it will be nice to be able to spend proper time together as a musical act and as friends in the very near future.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Anything off Bicep’s latest album, Isles. It’s quite hard to pick one in particular but Atlas is an absolute tune and a half!

Favourite lyric of all time?

It would be impossible to say what our favourite lyrics of all time would be. We are big believers in searching for new sounds and being open to new things. So, having all-time favourites is just not the sort of listeners we want to be. Of course, great lyrics to us are the ones that communicate with you deeply and connect you to what you think the artist was trying to portray. Some lyrics are utterly meaningless and that can also be great.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?

Something along the lines of "Forest Nature Sounds Vol II" please - repeating the same song over and over was a nightmarish torture tactic implemented in Guantanamo Bay!

Where can people find your music/more information?
