Update on the 6th International Symposium on Electrochemistry, South Africa (24 March 2023)

On behalf of the South African Chemical Institute, ElectrochemSA and the Local Organising Committee, I thank you for choosing to attend the 6th International Symposium on Electrochemistry, tagged: “ Electrochemistry, meeting societal needs”.

Kindly note the following:

A. Conference presentation format
The symposium is in a general session format i.e. no parallel session. This allows maximum audience, participation, discussions and participation.
Presentations are as follows:

  • Plenary = 45 min (40 min + 5 min discussion/comments)

  • Keynote = 30 min (26 min + 4 min for question/comments)

  • Oral = 20 min (17 min + 3 min for question/comments)

  • Poster presentation = 3 and 4 April

  •  Flash presentations of posters (3 & 4 April) = 5 min (Number of presenters: 10 or more. TBD)

Please note that there will be poster prizes.

B. Special Issue (SI)
The SI for the symposium is with the Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry – a collaborative journal of the International Society of Electrochemistry. The journal is a Q1 journal with impact factor of 4.598. The Guest editors are Prof OA Arotiba (University of Johannesburg, South Africa) and Prof F Marken (University of Bath, UK).

C. Symposium Events

D. Venue and Weather
The Venue is School of Tourism and Hospitality, University of Johannesburg, 57 Bunting Rd, Cottesloe, Johannesburg, 2092.
