Why You Need a Panel Bender

Astonishing Bends

The P2 is the ideal solution for flexible bending. It can handle both kit and batch one production thanks to the universal tool that automatically adapts in-cycle and, thanks to the MAC 3.0 technology, it adapts automatically guaranteeing consistent quality.

Greater Flexibility

Using the panel bender's Universal Bending Tools (UBT) it can process a wide range of thicknesses and machinable materials.

Zero Setup Time

Accuracy is key, so positioning, referencing, and centering are all done at the start to minimize cycle time and absorb any precision errors.

More Efficient

Highly automated, extremely accurate and exponentially faster than press brakes. It can do the work of up to 3 to 5 press brakes.

Greater Flexibility

Buying a Panel Bender Offers You More Than You Might Expect

The Universal Bending Tool allows for greater flexibility and versatility. It can be used to make narrow panels, tubular, hidden or radius bends, or bends with intrusive embossings. Additionally, it can be used to make upward or downward bends that are shorter than the whole sheet length, and can be set up automatically with the CLA/SIM option. Finally, it can be used in combination with an auxiliary blade for automatic and sequential cutting of profiles of different lengths, materials, shapes and thicknesses.

Zero Setup Time

Having a Panel Bender Gives You More Possibilities

The P2 panel bender has a zero setup time due to its universal bending tool, which automatically adapt in-cycle to the panel geometry without machine down times or manual re-tooling. Additionally, the P2 has an automatic blankholder that can adapt the length of the tool according to the size of the part to be produced, without the need for machine downtime or manual re-tooling. Finally, the P2 has proprietary software, such as LINKS and OPS, which can be used to establish communication between the system and the company departments involved in the production flow.

Panel Bender Advantages Over the Press Brake

The P2 panel bender has several advantages over a press brake. It has a higher average OEE of 30%, and its universal bending tools allow for greater flexibility without the need for costly and time-consuming tool changes. Additionally, the P2 has an automatic blankholder that can adapt the length of the tool according to the size of the part to be produced, without the need for machine downtime or manual re-tooling. Finally, the P2 has advanced sensors that measure the actual thickness and effective size of the part to be machined, and can detect any deformations.

What Can you Do On a Panel Bender?

Bend a Polygonal Panel

Whether it's a simple part or a complicated part the P2 is fast, flexible, and accurate. For complicated part such as the polygonal panel  (galvanized sheet 0.8 mm thick), the P2 automatically completes the bends in 134 seconds.

The panel bender performs many different machining functions. The integrated hinges, which are made possible by both radius bends and flattened bends, are one of the most intriguing features of this panel. Integrating hinges in the panel allow the elimination of any secondary operations.

Assemble in Mask Time

The P2 is the Salvagnini compact panel bender for lean, flexible production. In this video, the P2 bends automatically, in less than 2 minutes, an electrical box of mild steel sheet 2 mm thick.

This is a kit production typical of the electrical industry. From a single flat part, thanks to the CUT option, we produce 5 bent parts: the electrical box, 2 edge profiles, and 2 stiffener profiles. The operator finally assembles the electrical box in masked time.
