Our local church is 365 years old, built of wychert and still has quaint wooden pews. Visitors are given armfuls of books on arrival — hymn books, Bibles and magazines. There is always a beautiful floral arrangement, a mix of old and even older songs, and tea and biscuits served by one of our friendly senior members. It has been this way for as long as anyone can remember, and for some of them that is a really, really long time.
