As part of International Women’s Day 2023, we’re sharing insights from our team about their experiences, their role models and their goals for inspiring others as, or about, women in tech and business.

What advice would you give to the next generation of women starting their careers? Don’t be defeated! Surround yourself with positive female role models.

Make the time for people; building strong relationships will be your biggest asset!

Who are your female role models?

Julie Inglis was my line manager in a previous role and has always been an inspiration to me; being a successful director of a tech business, a mum of three and still having the time to coach and mentor employees.

She would never tell me how I must do something or tell me I did something wrong, but provided guidance, advice or share her experiences. I value her continuous support whenever I need it, even today.

Second is our very own Helen Fawcett. Working with Helen from the get-go of my Waterstons journey; Helen has always been the one I can get honest advice or opinion from.

What have you learned from the women you have worked with in your career so far?

You can achieve anything you want if you really want it ethically! And to be honest & transparent at all times.
