About Apprenticeships
As an apprentice, you are employed to carry out your role within the workplace with a minimum of 6 hours per week set aside and dedicated to training - this will be both within your workplace and here at York College. Earning a wage whilst you learn is a huge benefit of completing an apprenticeship and can help you kick start your career, providing you with valuable on-the-job skills that are unique to apprenticeship courses.
Apprenticeships are not just for school leavers, anyone who is looking to further their career at any age can enhance their qualifications and can study an apprenticeship to retrain or upskill.
York College offers a full suite of apprenticeships in different industry sectors, including, Construction, Engineering, Business, Hospitality, Hair & Beauty and Science. These range from Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) through to Level 4 (Foundation Degree equivalent).
